About · Materials

Fine furniture starts with honest materials.

The timbers, boards, finishes and hardware we choose, and the trusted suppliers behind them.

Why it matters

We would rather know the source than save a pound.

Over the years we have built close relationships with a handful of merchants and manufacturers who care as much as we do. That means consistent quality and straight answers when we ask questions.

We choose boards by hand for colour and figure, and test every new hinge, runner and handle in the workshop before it goes anywhere near your home.

The small things

The details you will touch every single day

Handles, hinges and runners take more wear than any other part of a kitchen or wardrobe. Skimp here and you will notice it within months.

That is why we bring a full sample case to every design meeting, so you can feel the weight of a pull and the glide of a drawer before you decide.
